What up friends, it's Chef again.
I've really been missing all of the TF homies, so before dropping links to the new playlist, I wanted to share a quick story if you wouldn't mind indulging me:
As most of you probably know, I kind of, unintentionally, somewhat manslaughtered a previous podcast endeavor that shall not be named. While we now look back on that event as a moment of serendipitous luck that set The Only Podcast That Matters™ on our current game-changing run, at the time it was devastating. In addition to the unfortunate legal and business implications that all had, I also felt like I'd let my boys down, which is, I'm sure we can all agree, a fate worse than death itself.
Later that week, the full TF squadron had planned on having one of our infamous corporate retreats. It was supposed to be the end of a great year. It was Chuck's birthday. We were all going to meet R. Kellz in person for the first time. So, even though our future as a motley crew of professional podcasters at best seemed unclear as fuck and, at worst, a bit bleak, we knew we had to do it right.
The night started at a crew favorite, Bernie's in Greenpoint. After a Larry's dozen of ice-cold Bud Heavies, mozzarella sticks and a cake with sparklers for the beautiful birthday boy, the entire group dynamic had shifted. For a bunch of deranged, depressed dudes, things felt optimistic. Through the fire, Throwing Fits was born.
At that moment, I remember feeling especially grateful to be a part of this specific team. We'd been through some shit, but found solace in making fun of our (read: my) nuclear fuck ups and ultimately came out the other side as an even tighter unit. What followed was another blassic night of shenanigans, including a crew staple that hits every single time no matter what we call ourselves or how many groms we count: the pre-game at Chateau Jimbo.
For Chef Jams No. 4, we've got the whole gang in the cut––Horny Jimmy, Jawn Legend, DJ Big Puppy Dog, Robby Kellz, Producer Jay, the Armenian Assassin Kyle Dunkirkjiandeleon, and myself––contributing our favorite tracks to put on when we're pregaming with each other. Moving forward, the gd mf boyz (and other special guests) are going to be contributing to these playlists more regularly, which is both exciting and truly emblematic of this thing of ours.
